Hammer to fall on last homesites at Springthorpe

Sunday 24 February 2008 at 1pm in Stage 9 at Springthorpe

The auctioneers hammer is set to fall on the last few homesites remaining at Springthorpe symbolising the end of an era.

After nine years of innovation, prestigious architectural design and sensitive urban renewal, Urban Pacific’s grand vision for Springthorpe is virtually complete.

The remaining homesites are in stage 9 and 10 and are very close to Gresswell Forest. They range in size from 425m2 to 646m2 and prices start from $260,000

Given the limited number of sites left, this is likely to be the last chance for people to buy and build their dream home in such an ideal location,” says Galeb Kilzi, Project Director.

Springthorpe is a premium residential development located 20 minutes north-east of the Melbourne CBD. It is on the site of the former Mont Park, Plenty and Macleod Hospitals and borders La Trobe University.

“Springthorpe has set a new benchmark that has become something of a trend. When we commenced construction there was nothing on the market like it in terms of its architecture, colour palette and plethora of amenities. Now, lifestyle offerings such as private country clubs and resident owned amenities are standard,” he says.

Springthorpe boasts high-quality lifestyle amenities including a residents only Country Club with a workout gym, two full size, fully lit tennis courts, outdoor pool (with easy ramp access for disabled users), bocce rink, children’s playground, BBQ area, sun deck, residents’ lounge and students’ centre with a computer network with internet access.

“Every element of this project has been meticulously planned and executed, creating enormous buyer appeal and resulting in values which have substantially exceeded those in surrounding suburbs,” says Aaron Silluzio, Director of Barry Plant Ivanhoe & Rosanna.

Cox Architects, the Town Architects, created a ‘Master Palette’ that included colours and materials that are aesthetic and sympathetic to the surrounding environment.

The project also set high benchmarks in architectural design. Springthorpe captivated home owners with its unique design of blended materials and elevated areas and continues to do so today.

“Rarely has Australia seen such a coordinated approach to sensitive residential development in urban renewal, ensuring all aspects of the natural environment are considered and all built form elements designed to blend and harmonise with the existing flora and maintaining the heritage values of the site,” Mr Kilzi enthuses.

Springthorpe has won numerous awards from the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) in 2003, 2004, 2005, including winner for Environmental Excellence and Best Masterplanned Development in the 2005 UDIA National Awards.

The project comprises 590 architect designed homes, 355 medium density dwellings, a retirement village of 88 villas and restored heritage buildings have been transformed into luxury apartments and townhouses.
