Sanctuary Display Village Opening gives Hunter homebuyers a taste of superior community living

The much anticipated opening of the Sanctuary Display Village at Kurraka Drive (off Minmi Road), Fletcher was a huge success, with more than 1000 people flocking to the destination on Saturday 29 March and some 300 more visitors touring the site and display homes on the Sunday.

A beautiful autumn day provided the perfect setting for the Family Fun Day which began with State Member for Wallsend, Sonia Hornery MP, declaring the Display Village open in front of an expectant crowd.

Representatives from project partners Urban Pacific and Landcom were very pleased with the outcome, reporting sales and a strong number of genuine enquiries, as well as positive overall feedback from the weekend’s event.

“We are pleased so many homebuyers in the Hunter were able to visit and experience why Sanctuary will become the benchmark for community living,” said Urban Pacific General Manager NSW, Paul Hedge.

“Our sales staff were certainly busy over the weekend, handling a huge amount of enquiries and completing a number of sales.

“The gala opening was the perfect platform for people of all ages to really understand firsthand the attributes of this outstanding masterplanned development.”

Landcom General Manager Development, Kerry Robinson, said as a member of the Sanctuary project team which had worked for the past decade to bring this site to fruition, it was very gratifying to see so many people enjoying the Sanctuary environment.

“When complete, Sanctuary will boast approximately 700 new and architecturally inspired homes and make a significant contribution to the projected growth for the region under the NSW Government’s Lower Hunter Growth Strategy,” said Mr Robinson.

“It is a pleasure to be welcoming the first families to the Sanctuary community.”

Of the 118 hectare site, approximately 45 percent of Sanctuary will be dedicated to open space, parklands, recreational and community facilities. Stage One features 63 home sites, a playground, footpaths, cycle ways, rejuvenated blue gum corridors and uninterrupted bushland views.  Already, 21 of the 63 sites have been sold.

Located within 25 minutes of the Newcastle CBD and in close proximity to the F3, the Hunter Valley Vineyards, East Maitland, Rutherford and the Thornton Corridor, Sanctuary is expected to have an end project value in excess of $330 million dollars.
