Urban Pacific expands residential community portfolio into Northern Territory

The Northern Territory Planning and Lands Minister today announced that Urban Pacific Limited and Brierty Limited have been selected as the preferred developers for Bellamack, Darwin, after undergoing an extensive Expression of Interest process. Urban Pacific and Brierty will now negotiate a Development Agreement with the NT Government over the next few weeks.

The new suburb of Bellamack will deliver at least 700 new homes to meet the growing demand to build more homes in Darwin's strong economy.

"Bellamack’s first lots will be ready for sale next year and will provide a range of housing options for Territory families wanting to invest in a new home,” Planning and Lands Minister Delia Lawrie said.

“Importantly, 15% of Bellamack will be set aside for affordable housing, creating terrific new opportunities for people wanting to buy their own home.”

This is Urban Pacific’s first residential development in the Northern Territory and they will be delivering the project with Joint Venture partner, civil contractor Brierty Limited. Larrakia Development Corporation Pty Limited is a strategic delivery partner to the project and will play a crucial role in the development of local business and employment opportunities.

The Consortia is committed to local industry involvement, having outlined a strong local participation plan within their tender response. NT businesses and labour will be utilised as much as possible during the development of the new suburb.

“Bellamack is an important part of the Territory Government’s land release strategy and we’re already investing in new schools, roads and recreation areas to cater for the new residents,” Ms Lawrie said.

“We’ll release land to meet market demand while not devaluing the investment of people that have already purchased their own home.”
